Your earliest love affairs
by greendawn incan you recall your earlier history of falling in love?
what do you think about those experiences now?
when i think of them i judge them as having been totally vain and naive and having made me too narrow minded, passive and dependant on other people.

Earliest love affairs?--mixed feelings there.
I always did believe in that "one soulmate malarky"...and looking for him has been one long strange trip...wonder where it will lead me this time...

17 Days: One Final Adventure
by Merry Magdalene ini once posted here a copy of my empassioned plea to the watchtower society--i want my mother back.
well, i just wanted to let all of you know that i got her back for a whole 17 days, and we had one final adventure together before she died, and there wasn't a damned thing they could do about it.. my mother is, was, a long-term loyal jw and i was her disfellowshipped daughter.
i believe she was in an almost constant state of conflict over me because her very strong maternal instincts demanded she behave openly and lovingly toward me, while her wts-trained conscience demanded the opposite.

Here is a poem I found yesterday that seemed fitting:
I'VE LEARNED SOME THINGS
I've learned some things from having lived:
If you're alive, experience one thing with all your power
Your beloved should be worn out from being kissed
And you should drop exhausted from the smelling of a flower
A person can gaze at the sky for hours
Can gaze for hours at a bird, a child, the sea
To live on the earth is to become part of it
To strike down roots that won't pull free
If you cling to anything, tightly hold a friend
Fight for something with every muscle, whole body, all your passion
And if you lay yourself for a time on the warm beach
Let yourself rest like a grain of sand, a leaf, a stone
To your utmost, listen to every beautiful song
As though filling all the self with sound and melody
One should plunge head-first into life
As one dives from a cliff into the emerald sea
Distant lands should draw you, people you don't know
To read every book, know other's lives, you should be burning
You shouldn't exchange for anything the pleasure of a glass of water
No matter how much the joy, your life should be filled with yearning
You should know sorrow, honorably, with all your being
Because the pains, like joys, make a person grow
Your blood should mingle in the great circulation of life
And in your veins life's endless fresh blood should flow
I've learned some things from having lived:
If you're alive, experience largely, merge with rivers, heavens, cosmos
For what we call living is a gift given to life
And life is a gift bestowed upon us

A welcome to a dear friend........"Joe"
by Sunnygal41 innot sure if "joe" will be reading this, or not, but, i just want to welcome him to jwd.
i have been a part of jwd since 2001, i think...........lol........i thank simon that there are such forums, as his, for those whole leave the wts.
anyways, maybe "joe" and his wife will be lurkers for awhile, and maybe they will never post, but, for the record, they are victims of the wts as most of us are, here.

Why I joined this forum...
by UpAndAtom in<div>my very first visit to this website several years ago, was because i wanted to find out what the few surprises were going to be at the sydney 2003 convention.
(i have family that are jehovahs witnesses but i am not) .
it took a few months to sink in, but i gradually came to accept the real truth that these surprises are nothing of the sort.
